It is known that the Ukrainian Marine Corps, including such units, breaks through the defenses of the Russian Federation, using tactics where "the most cunning wins".
The 37th Marine Brigade is an important part of the Ukrainian Marine Corps, demonstrating its readiness to perform tasks in the most difficult directions.
Svoboda Battalion
The Svoboda Battalion began its journey at the very start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but its roots date back to 2014. Back then, the Svoboda movement formed military volunteer units, with the first being the Sich Battalion, which later joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs, followed by the Carpathian Sich, integrated into the 93rd Brigade.
The modern incarnation of the Svoboda Battalion started to form around the Kyiv branch of the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda," which became the first headquarters after the invasion. In those crucial days of February and March, hundreds of Ukrainians rushed to Svoboda, knowing they would receive weapons and the chance to fight for their country without the bureaucracy. Most of the volunteers had no military experience; many had never even held a weapon before. The only experienced fighters were Commander Petro Kuzik and a few others who had been fighting since 2014.
After the Kyiv campaign, it became clear that continuing to fight as Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) was no longer an option. The need to join the regular army was urgent. That’s when Svoboda found common ground with the 4th Operational Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, which would later become "Rubizh."
Since then, the Svoboda Battalion has fought side-by-side with Rubizh, continuing to defend Ukrainian territory in battles like those in Siverskodonetsk and Bakhmut. Today, the Svoboda Battalion holds strong positions near Siversk, a key area for Ukraine's defense in Donbas.
Join us, and become part of a legacy built on courage, unity, and an unyielding commitment to Ukraine's freedom.
128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade
The 128th Separate Mountain Assault Transcarpathian Brigade has been found in July 12, 1922, and for over a century, still is one of the most effective and powerful units of the modern Ukrainian army.
During the Russo-Ukrainian War, the units of the 128th Brigade were among the first ones to go east in the spring of 2014, showing their courage and professionalism in the battles and combat missions.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the 128th Brigade defended our country on the Zaporizhia direction, then took an active part in the de-occupation of the Kherson region. In 2023, the brigade's combat units were holding the line on the Bakhmut and Zaporizhia directions, where they also took part in a counteroffensive with significant results. Today, the 128th also is holding combat positions in Zaporizhia.
Our brigade is constantly transforming itself to the realities of modern warfare, building the future of our army. Along with the assault and support units, the Brigade has a battalion of unmanned systems with powerful combat experience. Electronic reconnaissance and combat units work to protect the soldiers on the battlefield. The personnel of the Brigade is provided with a wide range of non-stop training and professional level increasing procedures, both in Ukraine and European countries, using the modern weapons and military equipment.
Among the values of the Brigade there are:
• multinationality: Ukrainians, Hungarians, Romanians, Slovaks, Poles, Roma, Georgians and other nationalities are fighting in the brigade now. For all of them, Ukraine is a common home they are defending.
• staying in connection with the civil people during the war. The brigade fights in the most difficult directions and everywhere feels the warm support of the population. This unity with the people adds strength to carry out combat missions.
• motivated, trained and very professional fighters: our purpose is to provide our motivated personnel with all the training and courses needed to increase the combat effectiveness of the Brigade

63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade
Most of us had no prior connection to the military, but when trouble came to our land, we had to learn new skills. The 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade is one of many brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In short, we have infantry units, artillery divisions, a tank battalion, and a drone systems battalion — those are the forces that directly destroy the enemy. As in every brigade, we also have many rear services and departments where service members handle paperwork, prepare food, and provide clothing and footwear.
Of course, the brigade includes reconnaissance, medics, psychologists, analysts, journalists, accountants, mechanics, and more. In addition, only in our brigade do we have a modern mobile dental clinic and an equipment production facility. We actively cooperate with charitable organizations, well-known athletes, politicians, patrons, and partners. In one word, our brigade is like a large company with a general manager and many departments. Everyone works together toward a common result.
Discipline and responsibility come first in our brigade. Each service member should reflect before sleep on what useful thing they did for the brigade during the day and how it will help tomorrow. There is no room here for slackers or for those who like to take credit for other people’s work. In this way we have fully moved away from the typical Soviet-style army toward a modern military. The Soviet phrase “initiative is punished” does not apply here — on the contrary, the more you show smart initiative, the easier and more productive your service will be.
Yes, conditions are not luxurious — much time must be spent in basements because the enemy constantly tries to find and destroy our personnel — but for the greater cause these inconveniences can be endured.
To sum up: we, the service members of the 63rd Brigade, know why we went to war. Our mission is to bring Victory closer through the work and effort of every single person. Our goal is to preserve the state, the language, and the nation. Our dream is to return to our families and look them in the eye with no shame.
81st Separate Airmobile Brigade
The 81st Separate Airmobile Slobozhansk Brigade of Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The brigade was formed after the beginning of the Russian aggression, in the fall of 2014. The brigade's personnel received their baptism of fire in late 2014 - early 2015, during the defense of the Donetsk airport and adjacent areas.
When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, the 81st Brigade was immediately thrown into frontline battles. Its 5th Battalion Tactical Group fought in Sumy on the very first day, while the 90th Battalion was deployed to defend Izium and later Oleksandrivka.
The brigade also participated in operations around Sloviansk, Sviatohirsk, and the Donetsk region, helping to liberate towns such as Novoselivka and Lyman.
In 2025, the brigade was equipped with American Stryker armored personnel carriers, enhancing its capability to conduct urban operations and rapid maneuvering in contested terrain.
Today, the 81st Brigade continues to be one of Ukraine’s elite air assault formations. Though its structure has evolved over time—most notably with the disbanding of the 122nd Battalion in August 2025 and the formation of a new 3rd Airmobile Battalion—the unit remains based in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, and is integrated into the 7th Rapid Response Corps.
Its personnel continue to operate in the most volatile sectors—Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kharkiv—embodying the brigade’s founding purpose: to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty in its most contested regions.
Separate Engineering-Technical Battalion
Our Engineering-Technical Battalion was formed in early 2024, focusing on survivability of troops, camouflaging and hardening positions.
We save lives by creating proper integrated fortification and defense solutions. Our mobile combined engineering units perform tasks all over the country, helping secure key infrastructure and logistics from enemy long-range weapons.
A part of our efforts is also dedicated to using anti-air (interceptor) drones, destroying enemy reconnaissance and attack drones.
We develop our own training programs, working closely with engineering training centers, and taking into account civilian professional experience of our soldiers and officers.
